MEMBERS OF THE DEPARTMENT:

Head of the Department of Pedagogic of Higher School and Social Science is Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor Iryna Melnychuk. She defended candidate dissertation on "Realization of pedagogical conditions of the incentive function of the controling knowledge in chemistry for the students of colleges" in 2002. Since 2003, she worked as an Assistant Professor at Department of Social Activity at Ternopil National Economic University. Since 2006, she is the Doctor of Philosophy, Ph.D. Irina Melnychuk was awarded the academic title of Assistant Professor of Department of Social Activity in 2007. She worked part-time at the Department of Pedagogical Skills and Educational Technologies at Hnatiuk Ternopil National Pedagogical University. Iryna Melnychuk defended doctoral dissertation on "Theory and methodology of professional training the future social workers by means of interactive technologies" in speciality "Theory and Methodology of Professional Education" at Hnatiuk Ternopil National Pedagogical University. Also, Irina Melnychuk graduated from the courses for teachers of higher institutions and obtained the specialty "Teacher of the educational trainings" and "Expert in educational training ". She is the author of 1 monograph, 8 educational-methodical books and 60 scientific publications. Iryna Melnychuk guided one Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences. Under her guidance, four candidate dissertations are performed. Iryna Melnychuk brought a treasure of valuable experience and a wealth of knowledge to her post.

Duties of Vice-Head of the Department performs the Candidate of Historical Sciences, Assistant Professor Oleg Pylypyshyn. He is a teacher of History of Ukraine , The History of Ukrainian culture, Foreign culture and Art for the future physicians. .Since 2009, he has been working as a teacher at the Department of Philosophy and Social Sciences at I.Ya. Horbachevsky Ternopil State Medical University . He graduated from the Department of Ancient and Medieval history at Hnatiuk Ternopil National Pedagogical University. Oleg Pylypyshyn is the author of 32 scientific publications. His scientific interests include: the history of Ukraine in the late nineteenth - early twentieth century.

Former Vice-Head of the Department is the Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Assistant Professor Vitaliy Kulchytskyi. Since 1999, he has been engaged in scientific activity. An important result of his research work was the candidate dissertation in speciality - General Pedagogy and the History of Pedagogy. He defended candidate dissertation on "System of educational work with young people in activities of national-oriented organizations (first half of the twentieth century.)". It was defended at Specialized Academic Council at I. Franko Zhytomyr State University on September 15, 2009. Vitaliy Kulchytskyi teaches Basis of Pedagogy, Philosophy and European culture. He is the author of 52 scientific publications.

The Candidate of Historical Sciences, Assistant Professor Sergiy Bondarenko is a teacher of History of Ukraine. Sergiy Bondarenko defended dissertation on "The Role of National Movement of Ukraine in the social and political life in the late 80's - early 90’s of XXth century" and obtained a Degree of Candidate of Historical Sciences. He became Assistant Professor at the Department of Philosophy, Social Sciences and Foreign Languages at Horbachevsky Ternopil State ​​Medical University on April 2008. In addition to teaching, he is engaged in patriotic education of the future physicians. He is the author of 20 scientific publications.

Candidate of Historical Sciences, Assistant Professor Leonid Kravchuk, who is responsible for the educational activity of the department, is always in the creative research. Leonid Kravchuk defended dissertation at Fedkovych Chernivtsi State University in1996.In addition, he obtained a Master’s Degree in State Administration at Lviv Regional Institute under the patronage of the President. Leonid Kravchuk obtained a reward High Achiver of Studing of Ukraine. Also, for his outstanding work , Leonid Kravchuk was awarded with two medals of Volodymyr the Great and Saint Nickolas.While working at the department, he published such books"Educational technology in Nursing" (2011), "Workshop in Political Science" (2012).Leonid Kravchuk is also the author of art books "Legends of the Castle Hill", "Kremenets and Slovatskyi."

Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Assistant Professor Olga Khrystenko teaches the students how to be good physicians and citizens. She is a teacher of Political Science and History of Ukraine. Olga Khrystenko defended her dissertation on "Educational activities of Women's Organizations of Ukraine (end of XIX - first half of the twentieth century)"at Franko Zhytomyr State University and obtained the Degree of Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences on June 2009. She is the author of 15 scientific publications, including 1 monograph. Her scientific interests include: the history of women's educational movement, the history of Ukraine and the world, pedagogy, religious studies and political science. Olga Khrystenko is a member of the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine.

Assistant Professor Taras Kadobnyi. In a course of studies, where the students are from all over the world , it is of paramount importance to make the transition to the new culture, language and traditions as soon as possible. The courses in History of Ukrainian culture, History of Ukraine and Philosophy taught by Candidate of Philosophical Sciences, Assistant Professor Taras Kadobnyi. He had studied the English language and Philosophy at St.Basil’s College, USA in 1995-1997. Taras Kadobnyj had graduated with honour from the Faculty of Foreign Languages at Yuriy Fedkovych ​​Chernivtsi National University in 2009. Since 2009, he has been working as a teacher at I.Ya. Horbachevsky Ternopil State Medical University. Taras Kadobnyi defended dissertation on “Empiricistic Paradigm of Linguistic Establishing of Scientific Knowledge” at Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University in 2014. Having the Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in the English language an literature, he is able to communicate with the foreign students and clearly illustrate the many practices, customs and traditions of Ukrainian people. Taras Kadobnyi is the author of 22 scientific publications. His scientific interests include: Philosophy, History of Ukraine and Foreign languages.

Kalyniuk Nataliya Mykolaivna, PhD on Law Education: Master on Law

In 2007 she graduated from National Academy of Ukraine by Ja. Mudryj (Kharkiv) and entered the doctorate of Kyiv National University by T.H. Shevchenko. In 2003 – 2006 she worked as a teacher of legal disciplines in Halych College by V. Chornovil and in 2006 – 2013 as an assistant of The Department of General Legal disciplines of Halych Institute by V. Chornovil. Since 2013 she is a teacher of The Department of Ternopil State Medical University.

Scientific activity: In January, 2013 she obtained PhD degree on specialty 12.00.09 – criminal process and criminalistics; forensics; operational activity; on theme “Tactics of Confrontation”. She is an author and co-author of 19 scientific articles and educational methodical publications.

Scientific interests: criminalistics aspects of the simultaneous examination of two or more previously interrogated persons; peculiarities of legal support maternal and child health in Ukraine.

Sopiha Mykhaylo Oleksandrovych, PhD on History Education: Master on Pedagogy

In 2008 he graduated from the Faculty of Foreign Languages of Pereyaslav-Khmelnytsky State Pedagogical University by H. Skovoroda. In 2008 he worked as a teacher of the Department of Foreign Languages in Kremenets Regional Humanitarian and Pedagogical Institute by T.H. Shevchenko. In 2008 – 2011 he obtained the degree on “History and Law”. Since March, 2013 he has been a teacher of the Department of Philosophy and Social Disciplines, and since June 2013 he is a teacher of the Department of Medical Law of Ternopil State Medical University.

Scientific activity: In 2013 he obtained PhD degree on theme “Development of agricultural research activity in Ukraine and the Soviet Union in the first half of the twentieth century: scientific, organizational activity professor S.P. Kulzhynsky (1880-1947)”. Author and co-author of 13 scientific works including a bibliographical index, 4 articles in professional issues, 8 theses in materials on conferences.

Scientific interests: historical aspect of legal regulation of the institute of childhood and motherhood in Ukraine.

Assistant of the Department, Humenna Nadiya Volodymyrivna, PhD on Law. Education: Master on Law, Master on Economy of Enterprise

Scientific activity: In 2003 she graduated from National Academy of Internal Affairs of Ukraine (Kyiv) obtaining the degree of Master of Law. In 2005 she obtained the degree of Master of Economy of Enterprise. In 2003 – 2013 she worked as an investigator of Ternopil City Department of Internal Affairs of Ukraine. Since June, 2013 she is an assistant of Department of Medical Law.

Scientific interests: In October, 2015 she obtained the degree of PhD on Law. She is an author and co-author of 18 scientific works and educational and methodical publications; and co-author of educational and methodical textbook “Workshop on workbook for classroom and extracurricular work on medical and pharmaceutical legislation, judicial Pharmacy, Evidence Based Medicine and Pharmacy”.

Assistant of the Department, Mahobej Kateryna Mykhaylivna, PhD on History. Education: Master on Law

In 2010 she graduated from Chernivtsi National University by Yu. Fedkovych. Since August, 2010 she worked as a teacher of the Department of Philosophy, Social Disciplines and Foreign Languages, and in 2013 she was transferred to the Department of Medical Law

Scientific activity: In November, 2015 she obtained the degree of PhD on History. She an author and co-author of 18 publications related to science, education and methodic.

Assistant of the Department Julia Pochynok Ukrainian translator, journalist, literary critic and international relations manager. The Doctor of Philosophy (Literary Theory), 2015. The Member of the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine (2013) and of the Shevchenko Scientific Society (2013). Lecturer at the Department of Pedagogy of Higher School and Social Sciences (2017), Assistant Vice-Rector for Research (2017-2018) Ternopil National Medical University (Ukraine).

Lab-assistant of this department Joanna Chyrska. We are fortunate to have as the lab-assistant of this department Joanna Chyrska. She studied at Barvinskyi Chortkiv College and got the education level of junior specialist in "Primary school teacher and organizer of students' associations." In 2008, Joanna Chyrska applied for the History Department at Ivan Franko Lviv National University, where she continued her studies and now getting a higher education (degree level) at the Department of "Ethnology." Since 2010, she has been working at the Medical University as a lab-assistant at the Department of Philosophy and Social Studies.


HISTORY OF THE DEPARTMENT

In the structure of I.Ya. Horbachevsky Ternopil State Medical University our department is one of the youngest.

It was established on September 2011, it is like a humanitarian oasis, like all young people, aims to develop and maximize self-realization.

The motto of the Department of Philosophy and Social Sciences: "Bringing up moral, patriotic and humane physicians - for the Ukrainian people and the rest of the world." This attitude is reflected in the relevant educational and scientific work of the department.

Training activity

The teachers of the Department of Pedagogics and Social Sciences teaches the first-year and second-year Ukrainian and foreign students. We offer the courses in History of Ukraine, History of Ukrainian culture, Politology and Philosophy.

In addition, for the students of Institute of Nursing, we offer courses in European culture, Foreign culture, Art, and Science Methodology (2016 year)

As a matter of fact , the scientific aspect is a significant area of ​​work for the teachers of the humanities. Prospects for the scientific development of the Department of Philosophy and Social Sciences are to improve the humanitarian training of the future physicians by introducing innovative educational technologies. Thus, during the lessons , teachers use interactive learning technologies multi-media and scientific films ". Teachers check the students’ knowledge by tests in the system of Moodle. (2017 year)


Scientific work

The results of scientific research are published in professional journals. Every year, teachers take part in international and national conferences. In particular, they were members of the VI International Scientific Conference "Higher Education in the context of Ukraine's integration into the European educational space", which took place on 24-26 November 2011 in Kiev.

The Department would develop a new course "Medical education", which can be embedded in the educational process of medical universities in Ukraine. This course will represent the historical and philosophical, methodological and methodical principles of pedagogical foundations of future health professionals.

The staff of the Department of Pedagogics and Social Sciences maintains close relationships with teachers of other departments. (2016 year)

Pastoral work

Undoubtedly, the formation of fully and harmoniously developed personality depends on the nurse's most appropriate educational environment.

Considering this, teachers of the department actively engaged in patriotic and educational work.

New year 2016 year

In particular, curators groups hold interesting discussions, national-patriotic lectures on the following topics: "What should a young Ukrainian (Ukrainian): the best features of the Ukrainian mentality," "Paths of rebel songs south of Volyn", "Musical arts in the lives of modern youth."

For the purpose of forming aesthetic culture of students, organized regularly visit local cultural institutions: Regional Philharmonic Society and Regional Academic Ukrainian Drama Theater Shevchenko. In this way future doctors attached to the spiritual treasures of classic and contemporary Ukrainian art.

2017 year

An interesting direction of educational work at the department is the tours all around Ternopil Region and Ukraine. For example, Taras Kadobnyi and Oleg Pylypyshyn organized the trip to Kyiv, in which students visited historical and cultural sights of the capital.
